- Ryanair announces record Winter 2026 schedule for Sweden
- Eight based aircraft and 43 routes including five new services

Ryanair has unveiled its largest ever Winter 2026 programme for Sweden, featuring eight based aircraft, 43 routes including five new services and capacity for 4.6 million passengers a year, representing 16pc growth. The airline is adding one further Boeing 737 at Stockholm Arlanda as part of a total investment of $800 million (€692 million) in the Swedish market. New routes include Stockholm to Rabat, Warsaw and Wroclaw, Gothenburg to Budapest and Malmö to London. The expansion is expected to support more than 3,600 jobs.
This growth follows the Swedish government’s decision to abolish the aviation tax from July 2025 and suspend the security fee until December 2026. However, Ryanair has warned that future expansion is at risk because Swedavia has raised airport charges by 22pc since the tax was scrapped and the security fee is due to rise by 67pc from March 2027. The airline argues these higher costs will erase the benefits of the tax cut and make Sweden less competitive against other European markets.
Ryanair wants to double Swedish traffic to eight million passengers a year by 2030 but requires competitive access costs to deliver further aircraft, routes and jobs. To mark the new schedule the airline has launched a short term seat sale with fares from 329 SEK.
