The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has launched its awareness campaign “Deeper Than It Seems,” introducing the regulatory system that underpins maritime and navigational tourism activities along the Red Sea coast. The regulatory system covers marine and nautical tourism activities including cruises, marinas, yachts, boats, beaches, and maritime activities.
The campaign sheds light on the often-unseen regulatory efforts that underpin coastal tourism activities, highlighting their role in ensuring safety, sustainability, environmental protection, and high-quality visitor experiences. This integrated system of regulations, requirements, licences, and permits built on technical foundations and international standards translates into clear procedures that enable the sector to grow efficiently and sustainably.
The SRSA emphasised that the system should not end when a licence is issued, but remain a continuing obligation subject to sustained field verification through compliance visits to marinas, vessels, and marine activity sites.
