Tourism is “the only bridge that unites everything,” Meixco’s tourism minister Josefina Rodrígue has told the second day of Tianguis Turístico Mexico 2025 in Rosarito, Baja California.
The trade fair takes place against a background of constant news of tariffs and deportations (over 40,000 people were deported to BC in 2024).
Mexico expects the number of visitors to Mexico from the USA will increase, as it does nearly every year to 14m and a half in 2025.
In 2024, Mexico received 45m foreign visitors, 12.7m from the U.S. The total figure making Mexico the seventh most popular nationwide tourist destination in the world after France, Spain, USA., China, Italy, and Turkey.
Baja California is a first time host for the 49th edition of Tianguis Turístico Mexico (TTM), Latin America’s largest tourism-related fair.
The event returns to Acapulco in 2026, venue for the first 36 editions of Tianguis Turístico Mexico dating back to 1975. Other destinations have been chosen to host every second year since 2012 as TTM has grown in size and scope.
