Tourism Ireland in Germany is launching a new campaign promoting Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and cruising holidays on the River Shannon, highlighting sustainability.
240 inland cruisers on the Shannon are now using sustainable HVO fuel, reducing carbon emissions by 92pc and making cruising holidays more environmentally friendly than ever
The aim of the campaign is to showcase the beautiful landscapes and tranquility of the River Shannon to German holidaymakers, with a goal of boosting business for inland cruise operators and other tourism businesses outside of peak summer months
The campaign includes shared photos and videos on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, creating new website pages on Ireland.com, and sending out email marketing with a boating theme to reach German consumers, with a total estimated reach of 14m impressions.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “our latest campaign is showcasing Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and cruising holidays on the Shannon. Our aim is to inspire German holidaymakers to come and discover this part of Ireland and enjoy a holiday which allows them to connect with nature and enjoy spectacular landscapes. A key message for Tourism Ireland is that cruising on the River Shannon is more eco-friendly than ever from this year, with the cruisers now using sustainable fuel.”
