Silversea has received delivery of Silver Ray, the second ship in its Nova Class, with Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, celebrating the official handover along with Bert Hernandez, Bernard Meyer, and Bernd Eikens, among others.
Silver Ray is set to commence her maiden voyage from Lisbon on June 15, slated to spend her inaugural season in the Mediterranean before embarking on a journey to the Americas in December 2024.
Jason Liberty highlighted Silver Ray’s distinction as an ultra-luxury and expedition vessel, emphasizing the commitment to delivering exceptional vacation experiences responsibly, while Bert Hernandez praised the vessel’s energy efficiency, innovative design enabling enhanced connectivity with destinations, and the collaborative efforts that brought the ship to fruition.
Bernd Eikens, CEO of the Meyer Group, expressed pride in the timely delivery of Silver Ray, acknowledging the dedication of the Meyer Werft team and partners in realising the ship’s construction, sea trials, and successful handover, with Captain Alessandro Zanello overseeing the technical and nautical sea trials in the North Sea.
