Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas, scheduled to debut in August 2025, will introduce Sailor, a golden retriever, as the ship’s family dog, following the success of the first onboard dog, Rover, on the Icon of the Seas.
Sailor will be Royal Caribbean’s second onboard dog, continuing the tradition of having a canine companion as part of the fleet, with Rover serving as the “Chief Dog Officer” on the Icon of the Seas since January 2024.
The decision to include Sailor as a family dog on the new ship reflects the immense popularity and positive response to Rover, indicating Royal Caribbean’s commitment to enhancing the onboard experience for guests through the presence of these beloved canine companions.
