Taste Waterford has invited locals and visitors to create picnics with local produce and producers have supplied breads cheeses and drinks. The campaign has highlighted spots from the Copper Coast to the Comeragh Mountains. Barron’s Bakery and Sunny South Yeast Bakery have provided baked goods.

Sólás na Mara has offered seaweed products while Blackwater Distillery and Dungarvan Brewing Company have supplied beverages. GROW HQ and other outlets have helped visitors select items. The initiative has promoted slow travel and local exploration.

Richard Povey has described the picnic concept as a way to enjoy Waterford flavours in scenic settings.
