Tourism Ireland swung into action at the British Masters at The Belfry Hotel and Resort, showcasing the island of Ireland as a world-class golf destination to thousands of spectators.
Together with four golf and tourism partners from the island of Ireland, including EI Travel Group, Causeway Hotel, The Brehon Hotel and Spa and TMR Hotel Collection, Tourism Ireland used the high-profile DP World Tour event to highlight superb golf and visitor experiences. Tourism Ireland reminded golfers that Adare Manor will host the Ryder Cup next year and that the Walker Cup takes place in Lahinch and the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg next month.
The presence at this year’s British Masters provided an excellent opportunity to remind golfers that the island of Ireland offers some of the very best golf in the world, as well as spectacular scenery, fantastic experiences and warm hospitality. Golf represents the world’s largest sports-related travel market, with Tourism Ireland’s message emphasising that a golfing holiday in Ireland is about much more than a round of 18 holes. The combination of world-class golf and unique Irish hospitality plays a key role in attracting golfers from Britain and elsewhere around the world.
The Tourism Ireland delegation included Joseph Cruise, Caroline Mulligan, Ann Donaghy from The Causeway Hotel, Paul O’Donnell from The Brehon Hotel and Spa, Helen Ferry from TMR Hotel Collection and Andrea Fumarola from EI Travel Group. The British Masters appearance forms part of Tourism Ireland’s ongoing strategy to promote the island of Ireland as a premier golf destination, leveraging major tournaments and events to reach target audiences.
