Tourism business in Unionhall in Cork is anticipated a boost be Netflix series Bodkin. West Cork is the setting for the seven part series about an American podcaster who travels to investigate a cold case involving three disappearances in Bodkin, a fictional town in Ireland.

Starring Will Forte from California and Siobhán Cullen from Rathfarnham, the series features Unionhall, Poulgorm Bridge, Glandore Village and Dromadoon Pier.

Other locations used in the show included Belmont Demesne, Enniskerry’s Carnegie Library, Sally Gap, and Travelahawk pebble beach in Wicklow, as well as Fenian Street, Howth Village, Howth Castle, and Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin.

The American diner featured in “Bodkin” is a real diner located in Julianstown, County Meath, called Dave’s Diner.

Tourism Ireland has released a behind-the-scenes film featuring the creators and actors praising the special locations chosen for filming in Ireland.

The film is being shared with followers on social media to showcase Ireland as a destination and inspire travel to the country.

The seventh and final part of the series is directed by Paddy Breathnach.
