US hotels have recorded a weekly average daily rate high of $179.30 for the week ending 19 September, with revenue per available room up more than 10pc year on year. The US hotel industry reached an all-time record nominal weekly average daily rate (ADR) of $179.30 for the week ending 19 September 2026.

According to market data released by CoStar, this historic rate represented a 5.7pc increase compared to the same week in the previous year. The surge reversed a late-summer seasonal dip and surpassed the previous summer peak of $178.64 recorded in June. Occupancy reached 71.1pc, up 4.4pc from the comparable week in 2025. Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) reached $127.43, a 10.4pc increase year-over-year.

Regional performance was elevated by major corporate events. Chicago posted the largest single-market gains, where hotel ADR jumped 28.2pc to $257.66 due to the International Manufacturing Technology Show, which brought roughly 90,000 attendees to the city. The positioning of the Jewish high holidays (Yom Kippur) in mid-September concentrated business and organisation group meetings strictly into this week. This triggered the year’s highest luxury and upper-upscale group demand, with more than 2.5m room nights sold. Roughly 89pc of all US hotel markets experienced year-over-year RevPAR growth, signalling a healthy baseline across both major travel cities and smaller regional markets.
