US-based travel agency air ticket sales reached $10.2bn in September 2026 according to Airlines Reporting Corporation data. The figure underscores continued strong demand for air travel through agencies. The performance capped an exceptional third quarter driven by resilient traveller demand.
Total sales reached $10.2bn, up 4pc from August 2026 and up 18pc year-over-year. Passenger trips totalled 25.7m, up 2pc year-over-year. The average ticket price was $669, a 7pc increase month-over-month. Total Q3 sales reached $29.7bn, up 18pc from $25.1bn in Q3 2025.
New Distribution Capability transactions accounted for 21.2pc of total ARC-settled transactions in September, representing a 7pc increase from the prior year. Additionally, 1,264 travel agencies actively reported NDC transactions during the month. Total Q3 passenger trips reached 77.4m, up 3.5pc year-over-year.
