Vasco da Gama cruise introduces €10 per night fuel surcharge

Nicko Cruises has applied a €10 per person per night fuel surcharge to all segments of the Vasco da Gama world cruise.
Guests sailing the entire 193-day cruise will pay €1,930 per person.
The company stated that international fuel prices remain above the level used in the original calculation.
Affected guests will receive a revised invoice showing the applicable surcharge.
The voyage will depart from Hamburg on 3 November 2026 and return on 5 May 2027.

Nicko Cruises has informed guests that a fuel surcharge of €10 per person per night will apply to all segments of the Vasco da Gama’s 193-day 2026-27 world cruise. The company has stated that affected guests will receive a revised invoice and that guests sailing the entire cruise will pay €1,930 per person. The company has waited for tensions in the Middle East to cease before communicating to guests at the beginning of April regarding a surcharge.

Nicko Cruises stated that international fuel prices remain above the level used in the original calculation and that oil prices have risen due to developments. The company stated that the basic level remained at a high level and that prices are higher than prices before the beginning of March and higher than prices at the time the programme was created. The company stated that the applicable surcharge will be shown on guests’ respective invoice and confirmation.

The company stated that it continues to monitor all price developments closely in cooperation with its partners and will pass on only what is necessary. The company stated that its goal is to continue providing a reliable and high-quality travel experience despite the current circumstances. The 193-day voyage will depart from Hamburg, Germany, on 3 November 2026 and visit destinations around the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans before returning to the same port on 5 May 2027.
