Venini has created four bespoke chandeliers for the new Explora III. The glassmaker has specifically designed the chandeliers for the ship, featuring a floral-inspired motif. The glass works have engaged in dialogue with the ship’s interior architecture and elevated the onboard experience, located in the lobby where they welcome guests as they step aboard.
Venini confirmed in a press release that the fourth chandelier was crafted using the iconic Balloton technique, one of the most distinctive expressions of Murano’s glassmaking heritage. Each piece has resulted from a collaborative design process, where the mastery of Murano’s glassmakers met the vision and requirements of each project. The project has extended throughout other areas of the vessel with a collection of bespoke floor lamps, developed around the same floral concept.
Balloton table lamps have been placed in the lobby to create a harmonious visual language across the interiors, the company stated. The glass works have represented a significant addition to the ship’s aesthetic programme, with the floral motif serving as a unifying design element across multiple public spaces.
