Viking’s newest ship, the Viking Vesta, has floated at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona after a two-day process that commenced on July 4.

The float out began with the cutting of a cord to allow water to flow into the ship’s building dock, followed by the ship being transferred to an outfitting dock for final construction and interior completion.

Viking’s chairman and CEO, Torstein Hagen, expressed excitement about the new ship, highlighting the partnership with Fincantieri in creating elegant ocean ships.

The Viking Vesta is scheduled for delivery in 2025 and will enter service in July of that year, offering itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
