Young and green – Aer Lingus unveils 200 new cabin crew to cope with expanding services

Aer LIngus believes that summer 2017 will be its busiest on record – and showed off almost 200 new cabin crew to keep up with the demand of new services to Europe and North America.

The new cabin crew have finished an intensive programme at Aer Lingus’ in-house Training Academy, located in Dublin Airport. The airline said the course covered theoretical and practical components and health and safety procedures, through to “grooming” and guest experience. The new recruits will be staying on shorter haul routes for now, and will be deployed only across the European network.

New routes this summer include Split (2w from May 27); Miami (4w ex Dublin from September 1); while 100,000 additional seats have been added to key sun routes such as Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

 And from May 26 Aer Lingus will increase the frequency of its Los Angeles service to a daily flight for summer 2017; Dublin to Orlando will increase to four times per wee;, and Chicago will also increase to double daily in the same period.
