German travel journalists have sampled Irish food and drink experiences as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. The four writers represent publications with a combined reach of around 3.9m people in Germany. They followed a dedicated culinary itinerary in the west of Ireland.
The group began with a guided tour of St Tola Goat Cheese Farm in Ennistymon and a hike in the Burren National Park. They enjoyed a seaweed bath in Doolin, a wild food taster walk, and visits to Burren Smokehouse, the Cliffs of Moher and Hazel Mountain Chocolate. The journalists also took part in a cookery class at Aniar Cookery School and visited Micil Distillery.
The writers flew directly from Frankfurt to Shannon on the Discover Airlines service. Their programme included a coastal walk and tasting with Mungo Murphy’s Seaweed Co. at Galway Bay and a visit to Brigit’s Garden..
