Data released by AIB’s Spend Trend report shows an unprecedented economic boom between Sunday, 26 July and Tuesday, 28 July 2026, compared to the same period in 2025. The spike celebrated Mayo’s first senior football title in 75 years after defeating Kerry. Localised Bank of Ireland data revealed that pub spending in Castlebar alone skyrocketed by 1,042pc during the homecoming celebrations.

Restaurants in Mayo increased by 58pc and fast food by 43pc during the celebration period. On the final day in Dublin, Kerry fans outspent Mayo fans by 21pc in capital bars and restaurants.
