The itinerary includes onboard multi-course gourmet dining with sommelier-selected wines, a guided VIP visit to the ancient archaeological site of Pompeii, transfers and accommodations in Ravello. Passengers board at 11:00 AM in Paris with a champagne welcome and a formal four-course dinner, waking to breakfast in bed while traveling through the Italian countryside before disembarking in the afternoon for the Pompeii tour. The journey continues with a private luxury car transfer to Ravello for a two-night stay at Caruso, an 11th-century palace perched above the Mediterranean Sea.

Prices start from €9,900 ($11,500) per person sharing a Historic Cabin, with formal evening wear strictly required for dinner in the restaurant cars. The dress code prohibits jeans, sneakers and t-shirts at all times, with cabin categories ranging from Historic Twin Cabins to Suites and Grand Suites with private living areas and marble bathrooms. The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has been operated by Belmond with restored 1920s Art Deco carriages featuring regional dining and exclusive experiences such as guided site visits, cooking classes or coastal boat tours.
