Total international visitor arrivals to the United States increased 2.7 pc in June 2026 compared to June 2025, reaching a level of 5.4m, according to data released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO). Outbound travel departures from the United States by US citizens rose 0.1 pc to 11.3m. Mexican visitor volume of 1,540,494 increased 13.6 pc from June 2025, while Canadian visitor volume of 1,124,176 increased 0.7 pc. Overseas visitor volume of 2,751,222 decreased 1.8 pc from June 2025.

The largest number of international visitor arrivals came from Mexico (1,540,494), followed by Canada (1,124,176), the United Kingdom (331,535), India (202,831), and Japan (149,200). Combined, these top five source markets accounted for 61.8 pc of total international arrivals. The top five overseas tourism arrivals for June were the United Kingdom (284,458), India (159,204), Colombia (143,042), Brazil (133,339), and Japan (119,906). The top five overseas business arrivals for June included the United Kingdom (45,676), India (36,561), Japan (27,962), Germany (24,563), and South Korea (18,570).

Mexico recorded the largest outbound visitor volume of 3,456,010 from the United States, representing 30.6 pc of total departures for June. Europe served as the second largest market for outbound US visitors with 2,982,766 departures, accounting for 26.4 pc of all departures in June, though this represented a decrease of 2.1 pc compared to June 2025. The year-to-date market share for North America (Mexico and Canada) stood at 48.6 pc, with overseas markets comprising 51.4 pc of departures.
