EquipHotel Paris 2026 (held from 2 to 5 November at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles) centres on the overarching theme “Hospitality in Motion” and the “Plural Hospitality” concept.
The event is designed around Design, Wellness, Foodservice, Technology, and Services to provide an actionable roadmap for sustainable and flexible spaces, structured across three main strands: all-terrain hospitality (adaptable multi-use spaces), experiences, and mindful hospitality (ecological and human responsibility).
The format was condensed from previous 5-day schedules to intensify professional networking and high-value buyer days.
- Back to Basics for Guest Comfort (2027 Outlook): Traveler surveys reveal a strong re-prioritization of fundamental room comforts, high-quality bedding, ergonomic furniture, tactile fabrics, acoustic insulation, and reliable temperature control, alongside a growing demand for spaces that allow guests to disconnect from technology (nearly a third actively seek offline-friendly environments).
- Human Touch Over Tech Replacement: Industry discussions (such as those led by Laurent Delporte) emphasize that artificial intelligence and robotics only add value when they free up staff for genuine human interaction, personal attention, and unique hospitality rather than replacing the human element.
- Flexible Access & “Space Identity”: Innovations like Open Lock Modernization (OLM) allow hotels to upgrade digital access layers (mobile keys, smart credentials) without ripping out existing, functional physical lock infrastructure. Physical key cards are also shifting into branded touchpoints crafted from sustainable materials like wood, leather, or PLA.
- Debut of HITEC Paris: In partnership with Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), the show hosted the first European edition of HITEC dedicated to AI, cybersecurity, and guest experience tech.
- The Savvy Hotelier’s Handbook: A multi-day collaborative project (by Figurz, La Conciergerie de l’architecture, and Hosense) tracked and analyzed common pitfalls, disconnects, and timing errors in hotel development and construction, culminating in a structured guide for future projects.
- Upmarket & Luxury Craftsmanship: The Exclusive Collection and “Do Not Disturb” exhibition, produced with Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant, highlighted how intimacy, tactile luxury, and French artisanal craftsmanship merge in modern high-end hotels.
