Ireland’s Blue Book has revealed 2 new members for its 2027 collection of historic hotels, country houses and restaurants. Mount Congreve Estate in Waterford and The Great Southern Killarney in Kerry join the collection. The Great Southern Killarney becomes the largest hotel in the collection with 177 rooms and suites in a Victorian landmark surrounded by 25,000 acres of lakes, forests and mountains.
Mount Congreve Estate features 70 acres of intensively planted woodland, a 4-acre walled garden and 16 kilometres of walkways overlooking the River Suir. The gardens were founded on the encouragement of Lionel N. de Rothschild. The estate offers forest cabins.
The collection now has 64 members. Liss Ard Estate resigned as the property transitions to private events, Ahernes departed after a change in ownership and Dunowen House, Enniscoe House and the Shannon Princess luxury hotel barge leave the guide. Ireland’s Blue Book held its annual general meeting in early November 2026.
