Storm Agneta has brought heavy rain and flooding to Greek islands, particularly Rhodes. At least 60 vehicles were swept away and dozens of properties flooded. Schools on the island closed and residents were advised to limit travel. The 112 emergency alert system was activated at 3:30.

Extreme rainfall of roughly 17 continuous hours forced several residents to climb onto rooftops overnight. Raging torrents inundated homes, businesses and shops in Archangelos, Afantou, Lindos, Kolymbia and Kalathos. The Mayor of Rhodes confirmed widespread school closures.

Thasos recorded 287.8 mm of rain, Samos 165.0 mm, Xanthi 115.8 mm, Kalamata 109.6 mm and Corfu 105.0 mm. England’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office updated travel advice and warned England tourists about flash flooding risks. Flights at Rhodes Airport remained operating with no major cancellations or delays reported.
