McKeever Hotels has opened The Meridian, a new £600,000 cocktail bar at Armagh City Hotel. The venue forms part of a wider £4m investment and has created 8 jobs. The bar opens to the public on 6 November 2026.
The venue’s name and design are inspired by the historic Meridian Line and Armagh’s scientific heritage. McKeever Hotels partnered with Belfast-based Drinksology and international hospitality consultant Greg Buda. The layout accommodates up to 120 guests and features The Constellation Room for premium spirit tastings, wine samplings and private dining.
The bar team worked with the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium to curate a menu introducing guests to astronomical stories through flavour. The cocktail list is structured as a journey across six regions of the world. The back bar features top Northern Irish spirits including Boatyard, Copeland, Jawbox, Bushmills and Hinch. Guests can try the bar’s own signature draught beer, The Meridian, brewed by Whitewater Brewery.
