30 countries on ‘no go’ list as DFA updates travel advice on ireland.ie domain

The Department of Foreign Affairs has relaunched its travel advice service on the domain name Ireland.ie.

The DFA has also launched a Twitter/X Autumn campaign called TravelWise.

The security ratings have been updated, with Algeria being reduced to level 2 “High Degree of Caution,” with specific areas having stronger advice.This has implicatoins for travel insurance.

Lebanon was recently listed as “Do Not Travel.” 

Currently 21 countries and territories have a “do not travel” status and nine have “avoid essential travel.”
