Royal Caribbean International cancelled all scheduled visits to Labadee through the end of October due to safety concerns in Haiti.

The decision affects five ships, including the Radiance of the Seas and the Icon of the Seas, which had visits planned between August and September. Affected ships will either spend additional time at sea or visit alternative Caribbean destinations such as Grand Turk and Nassau.

Royal Caribbean confirmed that any shore excursions booked for Labadee will be fully refunded to the original form of payment.

This suspension follows previous cancellations in March 2024 and updates in April and May 2025 due to escalating civil unrest and violence in Port-au-Prince.

Labadee was developed by Royal Caribbean and originally leased in 1986 from dictator Jean-Claude ‘Baby Doc’ Duvalier.

In a written statement Royal Caribbean shared, “We have been monitoring the evolving situation in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and out of an abundance of caution, we’re cancelling our visits to Labadee through Oct. 31. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Your safety is our top priority. Any shore excursions booked for Labadee will be fully refunded to their original form of payment.”
