Plans for the Advanced Aerial Mobility Research Lab at Shannon Airport were approved by Clare County Council on July 17.
The facility will focus on testing new aviation technologies and is expected to operate with Future Mobility Campus Ireland. Development includes a new single-storey building featuring offices, a terminal, a hangar apron, and a taxiway.
The project plans to incorporate improved site access, featuring a connection to the N19, as well as 48 parking spaces inclusive of accessible and EV charging options. The proposal includes 14 conditions related to environmental concerns that need to be addressed during the development process.
Clare County Council shared “The proposal was put forward back in April this year.”
