AeroItalia revealed a dry-lease agreement for five Boeing 737-8 aircraft from Air Lease Corporation on 8 October 2025, expanding a prior deal for three units.
Deliveries begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue into the second quarter of 2027, with revenue operations starting by year-end 2026.
The aircraft, costing €90,000 to €120,000 monthly to lease, support growth without replacing the airline’s nine Boeing 737-800s or two ATR72-600s. AeroItalia also wet-leases a Boeing 737-700 and an E190. The agreement follows a delayed 2022 plan due to engine concerns.
Gaetano Intrieri shared: “The B737-8s will be for pure growth and will not be replacing any currently operated B737-800s.”
