Airbus reported its First Quarter (Q1) 2024 results, with 142 commercial aircraft delivered, generating revenues of €12.8bn and an EBIT Adjusted of €0.6bn, alongside an EBIT (reported) of €0.6bn and EPS (reported) of €0.76. The free cash flow before customer financing was €-1.8bn.

The guidance issued in February 2024 remains unchanged. It includes assumptions of no additional disruptions to the world economy, air traffic, supply chain, internal operations, and delivery of products and services, targeting around 800 commercial aircraft deliveries, EBIT Adjusted between €6.5bn and €7.0bn, and a Free Cash Flow before Customer Financing of around €4.0bn.

Airbus’s Q1 results reflected challenges in the operating environment due to geopolitical tensions and supply chain issues. The quarter saw a solid order intake across business segments, with a focus on ramping up production rates for widebody aircraft like the A350. The company reported gross commercial aircraft orders totalling 170 and a strong order backlog of 8,626 commercial aircraft.

The A220 ramp-up is progressing towards a monthly production rate of 14 aircraft in 2026, while the A320 Family program is progressing towards the rate of 75 aircraft per month in 2026. Development activities continue for the A400M program, with risks remaining on achieving technical capabilities, cost reductions, and overall volume as per the revised baseline.
