An Gúm celebrates 100 years of publishing history

An Gúm is celebrating 100 years since its establishment and launched the celebrations with a one-day conference titled Inné & Inniu: 100 Bliain den Ghúm at Dublin City University in partnership with Fiontar & Scoil na Gaeilge. 

Talks cover edits publishing history including school texts, original works, translations and reference books.

The programme recalled some of the women who worked at An Gúm in early years, textbooks, the Séideán Sí project, lexicography, co-editions and book cover design. Alan Titley launches a commemorative edition of Comhar entitled An Gúm@100 at the close of the day.
