Boeing has named Kirkland H Donald, a retired Navy admiral, as the independent advisor to lead a comprehensive quality review of Boeing’s quality management system for commercial airplanes in the wake of the AS1282 blowout.
The announcement was named on an update of its progress on the steps to activate the grounded B737-9 fleet in the wake of the AS1812 blow-out.
Boeing said that Donald and a team of outside experts will provide recommendations to Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun and to the aerospace safety committee of Boeing’s board of directors.
