BA to introduce new first class seats on A380 aircraft to be manufactured in county Down

British Airways will introduce a new first class seat on its A380 aircraft by mid-2026 and on the Boeing 777-9 following its delivery, as part of a an €8.4bn transformation initiative.

The redesigned first class seat, developed by London based Tangerine Design Consultancy and manufactured by Collins Aerospace which has an new facility in Killeen county Down, features a 1-2-1 configuration with enhanced comfort elements and privacy features, including a door resembling Venetian blinds.

Technological advancements include a wireless tablet for controlling various suite settings and connectivity options, as well as a 32-inch 4K TV and improved storage facilities for luggage.

British Airways emphasizes its unique first class offerings in Europe, coupled with enhanced customer service through specialized first class staff and exclusive passenger perks like priority boarding and access to luxurious lounges.
