Ballymaloe Foods has attained Certified B Corporation status, recognising its commitment to social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. 

The Cork based food producer joins a global movement of businesses balancing profit with purpose, strengthening its reputation in the hospitality and retail sectors. 

Ballymaloe Foods has officially achieved Certified B Corporation status. The prominent Irish condiment producer, famous for its original tomato relish, secured this globally recognized credential from the non-profit organization B Lab. This milestone underscores the company’s rigorous standards across verified social and environmental performance, accountability, and public transparency. 

The company passed a meticulous assessment evaluating five critical impact areas, governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Ballymaloe Foods secured its high rating by showcasing verified, circular economy solutions throughout its supply chain, generating clean, renewable energy on site via an installed 75kW solar PV system, transitioning key packaging assets to 100pc recycled plastic to eliminate reliance on virgin plastics, partnering with FoodCloud to redistribute 26.3 tonnes of surplus food, the equivalent of over 62,000 meals, to charitable groups across Ireland, joining  the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and co-founding the “Nature and Us” research project to build environmental awareness in Irish schools.

Ballymaloe Foods will undergo a mandatory verification review every three years to measure continued improvement and transparency.
