Bishop’s Gate Hotel in Derry has been named Hotel of the Year at the 2026 Ulster Tatler Awards, adding another major accolade to the luxury boutique hotel’s growing list of achievements. The award was presented at a ceremony at Belfast City Hall on Thursday evening, recognising Bishop’s Gate Hotel’s commitment to outstanding hospitality and guest experience. Located within the historic Cathedral Quarter, Bishop’s Gate has established itself as one of Northern Ireland’s leading boutique hotels, combining its distinctive Edwardian heritage with luxury accommodation, award-winning dining and warm, authentic hospitality.

The Hotel of the Year title comes during a strong period for Bishop’s Gate, which has also been shortlisted for the Irish Hotel Awards, taking place in October. Bishop’s Gate Hotel is housed in a landmark building dating from 1899, which has been sensitively restored to combine its Edwardian heritage with contemporary luxury. Situated in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, the hotel offers luxury guestrooms and apartments, The Wig and Gown Champagne Bar and Restaurant, The Hervey Library and Northern Counties Ballroom.
