
A record number of passengers used public transport in 2023, with over 308m passenger journeys provided across multiple transport networks.
This marked the busiest year on record for Ireland’s public transport system, surpassing the previous year’s total of 249.3m passengers.
Bus Éireann is up 25.7pc from 35m to 44m passengers and Dublin Bus up 20pc from 121m to 145m.
Rural bus services are up 83pc in passenger numbers, with a rise from 600,000 to 1.1m users.
