More than 9,000 workers at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) are facing a potential strike following the release of the Public Interest Commission (PIC) report.

CBSA personnel, represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the Customs and Immigration Union (PSAC-CIU), voted 96% in favor of taking strike action.

The clock on job action starts on June 6, putting workers in a legal strike position.

Efforts are being made to reach an agreement and avert job action through mediated negotiations scheduled to begin on June 3 between PSAC, the Treasury Board, and CBSA.
