Celebrity has announced its excursion programme for its newly launched river cruises, offering curated shore experiences focused on culture, cuisine and local immersion.
The itineraries cover key European waterways and include guided tours, culinary events and active options tailored to different traveller interests. Celebrity Cruises has unveiled its “Destination Discovery” program, a groundbreaking shore excursion initiative for its new Celebrity River Cruises line, which is set to begin sailings in August 2027. The program consists of four distinct “series” designed to offer deeper cultural immersion than traditional river tours.
The “Destination Discovery” programme features four curated, immersive series for 2027-2028:
- Storyteller Series: Small-group, expert-led tours featuring local insights and hidden gems.
- Skillmaster Series: Hands-on workshops, such as local cooking classes, focused on regional traditions.
- Keys to the City Series: Independent, technology-driven explorations with customized digital guides.
- Celebrity Takeover Series: Exclusive, private events transforming local landmarks for guests.
One excursion is included daily in the voyage fare. Pre/post-cruise stays open in Summer 2026; general excursions open in 2027. The programme debuts on the first new vessels, including Celebrity Seeker and Celebrity Compass.
This expansion into river cruising broadens Celebrity’s portfolio beyond ocean voyages and targets growing demand for intimate, destination-rich holidays in hospitality and tourism sectors.
