Cork Airport has added billboards featuring Cork slang and phrases to brighten up the check-in area during upcoming infrastructure upgrades.
Cork phrases such as “Chalk it down”, “Me daza”, “Balmed out”, “Massive”, and “De berries” are displayed on the billboards, providing definitions and examples of usage.
The works will improve the check-in desks, including electrical and IT systems, but will not impact passengers’ current experience.
In 2023, Cork Airport received a €6m grant for its security area and experienced its busiest year in its history, with over 2.75m international passengers.
