Craggaunowen celebrated its 50th anniversary with a gathering of past and present staff, local officials, and community members, marking significant milestones since its establishment in 1974 by John Hunt.

The site saw a 27pc increase in visitor numbers in 2024 following management’s transfer to Clare County Council, which initiated significant enhancements and investments in the attraction.

Recent improvements include upgrades to historic features, the introduction of a new Folklore Trail, and the expansion of the park’s animation team, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Plans for 2025 involve further upgrades to facilities and infrastructure, highlighting Craggaunowen’s role as a crucial asset to Clare’s tourism and local economy.
