The event began with a half-day educational session featuring insights from international tourism experts, followed by an International Marketplace from April 8-9 for over 200 New England travel suppliers to meet with more than 60 tour operators.A media panel was moderated by Eoghan Corry, editor of Travel Extra.
Tony Lane of Visit USA in Ireland led an Irish delegation that included Tom Britton of Marble City Travel, Shane Cullen of ITTN and Peter McMinn of Travel Solutions. Other countries represented include England, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Mexico, making business connections to direct international visitors to New England attractions and accommodations.
Pre- and post-summit familiarisation trips from April 5-13 will showcase Newport and Providence, including key attractions like Ocean Drive and The Breakers mansion.
New England anticipates 3m overseas visitors by 2025, highlighting the region’s increasing appeal and focus on convenient, accessible events.
