Dublin airport expects 130k passengers through the airport today after world’s busiest air day yesterday

Dublin Airport is going through two of its three busiest days of the year. The airport recorded 770 movements yesterday and may exceed 130,000 passengers on yesterday or today. 

The airport expects this to be its busiest four-day weekend on record. Passenger numbers in July were significantly higher compared to last year and will be released next week. The busiets day of the year so far was  Sunday June 29 when the airport processed 129,268 passenegrs arriving and departing. 

Worldwide, Cirium has announced that yesterday was the busiest day for global flights. A total of 114,589 flights were scheduled to depart worldwide, carrying over 18.4m passengers. That meant a flight will take off every 0.75 seconds, or roughly 80 per minute across the globe.
