Dublin airport handled 2,480,041 passengers in January 2026, up 13.7pc on January 2025 and 20.7pc on pre-pandemic. Rolling annual was 36,716,546, up 6pc on the twelve months to January 2025.

Three days exceeded 100,000 passengers for the first time in January, with the busiest day on 4 January recording 112,227 passengers. The top five destinations were London Heathrow, Manchester, Amsterdam, London Gatwick, and London Stansted, while new routes to Cancun in Mexico and Tromso in Norway attracted strong demand.

The performance reflects sustained growth for the tenth consecutive month since April 2025, following a High Court ruling that excluded the 32m passenger cap from slot allocation decisions pending European court proceedings. Passenger satisfaction remained high, supported by ongoing terminal improvements including retail overhauls, the new Ryan’s Bar in Terminal 2, and forthcoming Fast Track and lounge enhancements. The daa stressed the urgency of permanently removing the passenger cap to accommodate rising demand.
