
Just under €8m has been allocated to three regional airports in Ireland under the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025
Ireland West (Knock) received €5.664m, followed by Kerry with €1.813m and Donegal at €0.346m.
The funds will support investments in safety, security, and sustainability projects aimed at reducing carbon footprints and enhancing resilience against climate change.
Minister Darragh O’Brien shared: “investments include a solar PV farm at Ireland West and safety upgrades at Kerry and Donegal airports. The targeted Exchequer funding provided by my Department to this sector has supported strong growth in passenger numbers.”
