The European Travel Agents and Tour Operators Associations and the Greek National Tourism Organisation have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen connections between Greece and Europe’s travel agents and tour operators. The cooperation runs until 31 December 2026 and will build on targeted initiatives designed to showcase Greece’s tourism potential and foster closer relations with the European travel distribution sector.
Three key activities mark the cooperation including Greece Showcase Webinars from 24 to 26 November 2026, a Workshop on Insolvency Protection in Athens on 9 December 2026 and the ECTAA Semi-Annual Meeting in Athens from 10 to 11 December 2026 in cooperation with HATTA. The partnership combines digital engagement with face-to-face meetings to create opportunities for Greek tourism stakeholders to connect with travel professionals across Europe.
Greece is one of Europe’s most established tourism destinations offering diversity of experiences and opportunities to develop tourism throughout the year. Through this partnership GNTO will gain access to ECTAA’s network representing some 100,000 travel agents and tour operators across Europe while ECTAA members will discover new tourism products and strengthen business connections with Greece.
Eric Drésin shared “Greece needs little introduction to European travellers, but the country continues to invest in tourism and develop exciting new business opportunities. Together with GNTO, we want to go beyond traditional destination promotion and connect Greek tourism stakeholders directly with European travel professionals.”
