Chicago experienced its first winter storm of the season, leading to significant travel disruptions with over 900 flight delays and 100 cancellations at O’Hare and Midway airports due to heavy snowfall and reduced visibility. Flights to Ireland were not affected although EI 124 was delayed by an hour.

The storm brought 2 to 4 inches of snow, creating hazardous driving conditions across the city, resulting in a surge of minor accidents and traffic congestion during peak hours.

Emergency services were activated, and the National Weather Service extended a winter weather advisory as snowfall transitioned to rain, with temperatures expected to rise, facilitating a quick melt of the snow by Friday.
