Flynas confirmed it will open a new base at Abha on 29 March 2026. The low-cost carrier will make Abha its fifth base after Riyadh Jeddah International Dammam and Madinah. The airline launched six new international routes from the southern Saudi city including year-round services to Dubai International Cairo International Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen and Addis Ababa International plus seasonal routes to Kuwait and Trabzon. These additions complement five existing domestic routes from Abha. flynas plans to eventually double its network from the airport where no airline currently bases operations though Saudia and flyadeal maintain a strong presence.
The development expands flynas connectivity in southern Saudi Arabia. Abha serves as a key regional point for both domestic and international travel. The new routes focus on high-demand leisure and business markets. The base opening aligns with flynas growth strategy across the kingdom. No other airlines are based at Abha at present.
The airline shared in a written statement “flynas will open a new base at Abha on March 29 2026. The base in southern Saudi Arabia will be the airline’s fifth after Riyadh Jeddah International Dammam and Madinah.”
