Dubai International Airports is temporarily limiting arriving flights for 48 hours starting April 19 at noon. More than 300 Dublin-bound passengers are currently stranded in the airport with a number unable to find hotel accommodation. EK161 and EK163 are both scheduled to fly today.

The decision to limit inbound flights was made to speed up the recovery process from recent disruptions caused by unprecedented weather conditions.

The airport spokesperson mentioned that they are doing their best to support passengers affected by delays.

The limitation on arriving flights is a proactive measure to manage the impact of the disruption efficiently.

The statement said: due to the ongoing disruption, and to speed up recovery, we are temporarily limiting the number of arriving flights from 12PM on 19 April for 48 hours. We urge you to only come to the airport if your airline has confirmed the departure of your flight.  As we’re currently facing congestion, please do NOT arrive too early. Aim to get to your terminal no earlier than 2 hours before your departure time.

Emirates suspended check-in for all customers transiting through Dubai Friday. Passengers with Dubai as their final destination can still check in.

Passengers already in Dubai and in transit will be accepted on their flights.
