Dublin to Helsinki AY1382@10.45 and inbound AY1381 are among 110 flights cancelled by Finnair on Monday, 19 May, due to industrial action, which is expected to impact around 14,000 customers.
The cancellations are a result of a strike organised by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU), affecting ground operations and catering services at Helsinki Airport, leading to potential baggage handling disruptions.
The IAU has been in negotiations with the employers’ association Palta since late January, but the discussions have reached a deadlock, prompting the strike.
In addition to the strike on May 19, the IAU has warned of possible further walkouts on Friday, 30 May, and Monday, 2 June, if no agreement is reached.
Finnair has previously experienced flight cancellations due to similar industrial actions by the aviation union, with recent cancellations occurring on the previous Friday.
