Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary has said he is disappointed with Boeing’s new management, with deliveries of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft remaining behind schedule, with a risk of receiving only 20-25 aircraft instead of the planned 29 by the end of summer.

O’Leary said ongoing delays in Boeing’s deliveries meant the airline had received fewer aircraft than scheduled in July and anticipated a shortfall in August as well, attributing the setbacks to significant production issues at Boeing.

Despite Boeing’s commitment to increasing output by the year-end following supply chain challenges and a slower assembly line, Ryanair faced repeated delays in 737 MAX deliveries, impacting its operational planning and necessitating adjustments in aircraft delivery timelines.

Ryanair already holds firm orders for the 737 MAX 10 model and options for more, with the first deliveries expected in 2027, but uncertainties loom over the certification timelines for the MAX 7 and MAX 10 jets, with O’Leary expressing the ongoing challenges and unpredictability in the partnership with Boeing.
