Lawless Hotel in Aughrim has been listed for sale at €995,000, just a year after new owners aimed to develop an outdoor food court but could not revitalize the property.
The historic hotel, dating back to 1787, closed before the pandemic due to disrepair and vandalism, and has since drawn community speculation about its future use.
Following public interest and community meetings, local representatives clarified that the hotel was not intended to house Ukrainian or International Protection applicants.
Despite investments by the current owners in upgrades, the hotel requires significant repairs; however, there is noted potential for revitalization and community support for its restoration.
