London City Airport has completed a £12m upgrade of its departure lounge, including new dining outlets, enhanced retail offerings, and 30pc more seating.
The upgrade began with the introduction of next-generation CT security scanners, halving queuing times, and culminated with the opening of the pub-meets-brasserie Hithes in July 2024.
The airport has added two new restaurants from F&B operator SSP Group, a new café and bar, expanded Aelia Duty Free Store, and refurbished WHSmith, Caffè Nero, and Boots outlets.
The departure lounge now features 950 seats, with additional charging sockets, refurbished washrooms, and new washrooms in the west pier, aiming to provide a great customer experience catering to the rise in leisure travellers.
